Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Requalification (RQF)

The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain knowledge and practical competences required to deal with a range of workplace first aid situations.
The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Requalification (RQF) is aimed at learners who already have a 3 day First Aid at Work qualification and are required to renew this every 3 years.

Description:

The qualification has a recommended course duration of two days. The course is available as:

  • Two day classroom based practical or: 
  • Blended learning course which requires 6hrs pre eLearning plus 6 hours practical training.

Course Content:

Day 1  – First Aid at Work Requalification (RQF) covers the following subjects:

  • Roles & Responsibilities of the First Aider

  • Assessing an Emergency Situation & Prioritising Action

  • Unresponsive Casualty (Not Breathing)

  • Unresponsive Casualty (Breathing)

  • Choking

  • Seizures

  • Infection Prevention

  • Severe Bleeding

  • Shock (including internal bleeding)

  • Burns

  • Minor Injuries

  • Anaphylaxis

  • Fractures & Dislocations

  • Spinal Injuries

  • Further Wounds & Bleeding

  • Drowning

  • Extreme Temperatures

  • Heart Related Conditions

  • Poisoning

  • Sepsis

  • Stroke

  • Asthma

  • Diabetes

  • Abdominal & Chest Injuries

  • Head Injuries

  • Sprains & Strains

  • Bites & Stings

  • Electric Shock

  • Fainting & Panic Attacks

Who is this course for?

The First Aid at Work course is suitable for people aged 16+ who might need to provide first aid by responding to a wide range of accidents, injuries, and illnesses that they could encounter in their workplace.
  • This is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities.
