The IOSH Managing Safely®️ Refresher course offers managers and supervisors a valuable opportunity to revisit the core principles of the IOSH Managing Safely®️ programme. This includes key areas such as identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace risks, as well as assessing the effectiveness of safety systems and strategies.
By refreshing their knowledge, participants will gain renewed confidence in promoting and implementing effective safety practices. The course also provides time for reflection on their safety performance since completing the initial training. Additionally, candidates will receive updates on any changes to legislation, industry standards, and best practice guidance, ensuring their knowledge remains current and relevant.
Description:
The IOSH Managing Safely Refresher is a one-day course designed for managers and supervisors who have previously completed the full IOSH Managing Safely qualification. While the original qualification does not expire, IOSH recommends taking the refresher every three years to stay up-to-date with changes in legislation, best practice, and safety standards.
Risk management: How to assess, control, and monitor risk
Workplace safety: How to maintain a safe work environment, including legal compliance and workplace safety procedures
Hazards: How to identify and manage common hazards, such as fire, electricity, chemicals, and noise
Incident investigation: How to respond to an accident and investigate it correctly
Safety management: How to develop and review safety management systems
Health and safety legislation: How health and safety legislation impacts the workplace

- In-house – dedicated course for up to 20 learners either at your premises or virtual
- eLearning – complete the course in your own time over a period that suits you.
Who is this course for?
While it won’t turn them into safety experts overnight, it will equip them with the practical actions, knowledge, and tools needed to address the safety and health responsibilities within their roles. Crucially, Managing Safely emphasises the importance of integrating safety and health into everyday management and business practices.
