The IOSH Managing Safely®️ course is a comprehensive, accredited 3-day program designed to equip individuals in leadership roles with the knowledge to identify, evaluate, and manage workplace risks effectively. Participants will also learn how to assess the performance and effectiveness of existing health and safety systems within their organisation.

Course Content:
Three day IOSH Managing Safely
After completing this course, candidates will have a firm grasp of the following areas:
- Understand the importance of managing health and safety in the workplace
- Define the key terms relating to health and safety
- Understand how to assess, reduce, identify, and control risks in the workplace
- Measure health and safety within your own workplace
- Apply best practice principles to your organisation’s health and safety systems Assessment
Assessment
IOSH Managing Safely®️ is assessed in 2 parts:
- A Multiple-choice test of 30 questions. There are 60 points available and you need to score 60% to pass, so the pass mark is 36 out of 60.
- A Practical assessment, in which participants must show how to apply the knowledge they have gained throughout the course to real-life situations. You must complete the risk assessment within 2 weeks of finishing the initial course.
- An IOSH Managing Safely®️ certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of both parts of the assessment.
Delivery
- This course is available:
- Public open course (ideal for small numbers to attend either classroom of virtual)
- In-house – dedicated course for up to 20 learners either at your premises or virtual
- eLearning – complete the course in your own time over a period that suits you.
Who is this course for?
While it won’t turn them into safety experts overnight, it will equip them with the practical actions, knowledge, and tools needed to address the safety and health responsibilities within their roles. Crucially, Managing Safely emphasises the importance of integrating safety and health into everyday management and business practices.
